Providing accessible, quality editing services for non-men writers
Below is a sample of works I have edited. Click on the images to check them out on their writer's pages!
Rate for all services: $0.01/word
Developmental EditingDevelopmental editing looks at your manuscript through a big picture lens to refine its main components: plot, characters, setting, etc. This is the first piece of editing you should look at if you're early in the process and have at least a first draft.
Line EditingLine editing goes deeper into the writing itself, looking line by line to improve the readability and clarity while maintaining your authorial voice. This step of editing should come after developmental editing or at least after a few drafts.
Copy Editing/ProofreadingCopy editing is the most technical level of editing and looks to correct any mechanical issues such as spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. This should be the final step of editing after the work is all but finalized.
Tabletop Roleplaying GamesWhile the exact specifics may differ from editing fiction, I offer any of the above services for TTRPG creators!
All editing services come with a free sample edit as part of your consultation!
Genre Specialties: High Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, SciFi, Lesbian/Sapphic Romance
ANTI AI POLICYZero AI will be used in any part of the editing process. I will not work with any writer that uses AI tools to create their work.
UPLIFT THE MARGINALIZEDMy goal is to provided quality, accessible editing services to those largely ignored or actively discouraged within the creative writing industry (specifically women and lesbians). To that end I'm offering a Needs-Based Discount: as part of your consultation the final cost can be adjusted up to a 50% discount based on your budget and project.
COLLABORATION IS KEYIt's your creation, I'm just refining it. All editing work is done through the lens of amplifying your personal voice and elevating your art for what it is, not tearing it down or transforming it to something more palatable for mass appeal.
Lilitu Fray (She/They/It) is a black trans lesbian with a deep love of creative writing, tabletop roleplaying games, and media analysis. When she isn't working her day job it can be found reading lesbian novels or working on an editing project. Their current goal is to raise enough money to leave their country of residence and relocate to one more LGBT friendly.
